why participate in a group
BALANCE: It’s a place to be known. In our culture there are very few places where we feel comfortable talking about what is really going on in the interior of our lives. Read More
PERSPECTIVE: Fellowship, or experiencing life together with other Christian brothers, helps keep a proper perception of our lives. Only in a small group can we experience authenticity, not surface-level chit-chat. Read More
VALUE OF WALKING TOGETHER: It’s important to have a place to bring our faith and doubts, a place to figure out and process life together with other men. Life is meant to be shared. Read More
how does it work
We do our best to model each group after Act 2:42: “They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”
Most of our groups last 75 to 90 minutes and meet weekly. Each week we spend the first 30 to 40 minutes reading a chapter of scripture and then discussing it. After that we check in with each guy and he has a chance to share what is going on in his life. We finish each weekly gathering with prayer
We talk about everything from home life to work to recreation and spirituality. Each man is encouraged to share at whatever level he is comfortable with.
